Check In Check Out Software

Xceliware's Check In Check Out Software

Check In Check Out Software comes in many shapes and sizes. The most basic of systems and one that we are familiar with is the local library. Libraries bar code their books and when you check out a book, they scan the book and your information (based on your library card) is entered into their asset tracking system. It tells the library who checked out the book and when it is due back.

A spreadsheet can also be used as basic Check In Check Out Software. If one hands out uniforms to 10 members of a team, the coach can list each player's name in one column and the number on the uniform in a different column. At the end of the season when the uniforms are to be returned it is not difficult to determine who has and has not returned their uniform by referencing this most basic asset tracking system.

The reality is that in most environments management is interested in tracking a more complex series of transactions and thus more sophisticated Check In Check Out Software is desirable. If used to track inventory that moves in and out of a warehouse, then a picking, packing, and shipping (or delivery) feature would be nice. If these good are used by more than one customer or location, then a scheduling and calendar feature would be helpful. If the items have any value then keeping a maintenance record will be a key component to an asset tracking system.

Xceliware's Equipment Manager (EM) is the most complete Check In Check Out Software. Companies in industries such as trade shows, entertainment services, and medical home delivery use it as their Check In Check Out system to provide them the data they need to locate, track and maintain their assets.

The EM Check In Check Out Software is a full featured solution that includes, work orders, pick orders, check in, scheduling, routing, delivery, maintenance, etc.

Unlike a WMS, Check In Check Out Software is designed for inventory or assets that you want and expect to return to you. While they may go to a customer for a period of time, they are typically not sold as part of the normal procedures. There is a big difference between a WMS and Check In Check Out Software.

If you have assets, inventory, or equipment that is important to locate, track, and maintain an asset tracking system like Equipment Manager is right for you.
