Xceliware's Asset Tracking System & Equipment Manager

Asset tracking is used in so many different industries and Asset Tracking Systems come in so many different shapes and sizes. Construction companies use an Asset Tracking System to keep track of the tools that are used at the job sites. Depending on the company, the tool may be assigned to the job site or it may be assigned to the individual using the tool.

A trade show company has trade show booths that are stored and shipped on behalf of their clients to convention centers around the country. This type of Asset Tracking System should be able to track not only the whereabouts of the booths, but the scheduling of the booths so that a single booth does not get double booked. Additionally when a booth is returned, being able to indicate that the booth is either missing a component or has some type of defect is an important feature of the Asset Tracking System.

To track computers that are issued to employees, it is important that the Asset Tracking System track the pertinent information about the computer and when it gets serviced or repaired, but some of the more advanced features such as scheduling may not be as important.

Some Asset Tracking Systems only work in "batch" mode where the data is transferred from a mobile device when it is "docked" into the cradle. Other work in "real time" and the moment data is updated on the mobile device, the system gets updated through either wifi or cellular technology.

Xceliware's Equipment Manager (EM) is the most complete asset tracking system. Companies in industries such as trade shows, entertainment services, and medical home delivery use it as their asset tracking system to provide them the data they need to locate, track and maintain their assets.

The feature set of Equipment Manager includes so many of the advanced features that are often requested to ensure that assets and equipment get managed and tracked in the way best suitable for your organization. A sampling of the modules and features are: work orders, pick orders, check in, scheduling, routing, delivery, maintenance, etc. Equipment Manager works in a both a batch and real time mode.

Unlike a WMS, an asset tracking system is designed for inventory or assets that you want and expect to return to you. While they may go to a customer for a period of time, they are typically not sold as part of the normal procedures. There is a big difference between a WMS and an asset tracking system.

If you have assets, inventory, or equipment that is important to locate, track, and maintain an asset tracking system like Equipment Manager is right for you.
